“There will be some days when you close your eyes while crossing the street, maybe because you want to see what fate has in store for you, or maybe because your depression is running rampant again and you don’t know how to calm it down. When you feel that all faith has been lost, look up, and look forward.” -Brittany Seidelman and Jacob Michael White via. Recoveryispossibleblog.com
Recovery Through Spirituality: Meaning and Purpose
At one time in your life, you experienced a tragedy, trauma, or an event that shook your faith and hope in this world. No matter what your circumstance was or is, past or present, somehow there has always been some hope in you to continue going down the path of recovery. Somewhere tucked away in your soul, theres been a part of you that has always considered the possibility of a connection that you’ve longed for. Sometimes the reach out has been strong and was persistent. Other times, it was so low key and hidden, that it couldn’t even be identified.
Think about somethings that you can do to build your own personal spiritual strength. How will it affect your recovery? Good or bad? Positive or negative?
With that being said, recovery is real, just as your faith in spirituality. You don’t have to believe in god, or be religious. Everyones spirituality is different.
